The general area is more for younger couples or singles rather than families. If being able to get home after a late night drinking is important to you and you don’t mind, or enjoy, the local colour of the activities happening in Kings Cross this can be a great place to stay.

A decent double bedroom room in a shared place can typically be had for around $350 dollars. As you go lower the quality will drop. If you see much lower – in the under $200 dollar range check to make sure it isn’t a room share, and the price is per person, rather than a flat share. In a room share two people are expected to share the same room. Great if you are couple otherwise not so much.
Transport
Potts Point is about thirty minutes walk to the city. The nearest underground is Kings Cross which costs around $4 for a return trip in to the city.
